Goals for 2009

I am finally going to set some goals, on paper this time. Winging it has been cool so far, but as the year draws to a close it seems like a good time to actually formalize where my life is heading and make my Time Management teacher happy at the same time. I wonder if she made it to Peru yet?

The top result from a google search for 'how to set goals' turned up an excellent site on Personal Goal Setting. After a quick read and some careful thought, these are the goals I am hoping to achieve in 2009:
  • Artistic:
Produce a full length song on my home computer with free and open source software using samples from my vinyl collection.

  • Attitude:
Visit family and friends more regularly

  • Career:
  • Improve group presentation skills
  • Help colleagues with simple and complex problems
  • Provide one-on-one training where required

  • Education:
    Pass VMware Certified Professional exam
  • Family:
Help my partner everyday and discover fun and interesting activities for the weekend
  • Financial:
    Buy an investment property

  • Physical:
Walk for 45 minutes every second day

  • Pleasure:
  • Shoot hoops once per week
  • Watch an independant film once per month
  • Watch a play once per quarter
  • Write a screenplay
  • Public Service:
Donate money and/or time to a local community outreach program
